I'm hopping on the blogging bandwagon...

Ok, so here goes…my first post. It’s been a while in the making. I set this blog up over a month ago and still haven’t got round to writing it until today. I divide my time between lesson planning, teaching, learning Chinese, trying to read Dostoevsky’s ‘Notes from Underground’ (which will never happen) and most importantly, cooking and eating. Since I set this blog up you’ve already missed out on such culinary adventures as attempting to make a toffee and white chocolate cheesecake with dairylea (the packet was mistranslated into ‘european cream cheese’), my excitement when my oven arrived after 6 months of being without one, and my subsequent disappointment after realising it was really a very poor excuse for an oven, but just managing to make pizzas, cookies and a lemon drizzle cake with it. All of these I’m sure I’ll inform you of in forthcoming posts.

Ultimately, I’ve joined the narcissistic world of blogging to talk about me and my food experiences in Shanghai and beyond.
